Art Book Shoot with Lily
Some weeks back, I received an invite to be part of the next Mammoth Book of Erotic Photography. This is one of the premiere publications on erotic photography with many internationally reknowned photographers, 75 of them in fact. Needless to say I was thrilled and accepted immediately.
To get enough photographs, the best way was to do a shoot just for this book. But so many photographs with so little time presented a challenge so I immediately put out a casting call for models.
The editor said he'd send an exciting new theme that the photographers would love later on. Fast forward a couple weeks when he shared the theme, my jaw dropped. He needed a couple dozen pics to be submitted so he could narrow it down to less than 10 but only a handful of my images met the theme criteria, much less a couple dozen.
To get enough photographs, the best way was to do a shoot just for this book. But so many photographs with so little time presented a challenge so I immediately put out a casting call for models.
Many models were interested, but Lily LeFleur stood out because of her enthusiasm. Of course a model needs to look good, but I absolutely love working with models who are unabashedly committed and excited about the project.
My primary concern was I had never shot with Lily before and her images at the time didn't show the kind of look I was after. She was also fairly inexperienced with modeling. Still, I didn't want to pass up the opportunity to work with someone with such a compelling attitude so I took a chance.
For 6 days, Lily and I had back to back shoots ranging from solos to multi-model shoots. Lily was everything I could have asked for. She was completely committed to making it work.
The other models who participated were very excited about the results, too, although none shot more than a day. In addition to Lily, thanks also go to Jenipurr, Andrea Rosu, KatinaRaine, TomiKnox, KrystaKaos, Kathryn, CaseyCalvert, RaindeGrey, Katharine, Dannika, and Zoey who were amazing too.
I don't want to ruin the surprise by saying what the theme is, but see if you can figure it out from the photos.

Exotic and Flexible Odaxe
I had wanted to shoot with Lady Odaxe for awhile, but she wasn't local. Then I received a message from her about shooting the coming weekend. She was traveling through SF so I couldn't miss this opportunity.
She looked good when I picked her up at BART for the trip to the studio. But after putting on makeup she transformed into a sexier and intense vixen.
I hadn't given the concept much advance thought because I knew so little about her. Also, I was working on my entry into an art book so I didn't have time for anything overly ambitious. The most straightforward concept was to take advantage of her flexibility, and when she said she enjoyed asphyxiation, that was my cue for adding some water.
All in all, this was a great shoot for something last minute on a busy week. I loved the pics and can't wait til I shoot with her again.

Hanging out with Kathryn and SirenWolf
Kathryn asked if I was free for a shoot on the weekend. I couldn't pass up the opportunity despite a busy week. Hanging with her is more like bud than model, except the bud happens to have big boobs and is happy to have a camera pointing a few inches away from her naked crotch.

Collar, Leash, and Drip
The first two were the words ZoeyZ suggested for the shoot. Although sub-slave concepts aren't my strong suit (I feel that depicting the relationship is too literal for my minimalist studio), I had to try since she seemed so excited about that idea for her first girl-girl shoot.
So entering from stage left comes SgSue. Her bright red hair was a great match with Zoey's gold. In addition to a few tats, she also brought a curved glass dildo with all a ball at the end.

Anal hook sans the anal
Andrea Rosu and I have been trying to schedule for awhile. She brought up the idea of using an anal hook while standing up but I was skeptical. With a thin curved rod attached to a big ball at the end, you don't see anything but the small rod when it's inserted, especially when also trying to get a good face shoot. Still, it's new for me, so I thought it would be interesting to try.
Separately, she also brought along a dragon fruit for a second look. I brought some purple yams as well.
To prepare, Andrea suggests stacking concrete blocks to lean against. I put one down and she leans over it to show how it could look after all of them are in place. I see her ass in the air with her crotch exposed, and it's obvious that one block is all we need.
The catch is the hook is hidden if it goes in the ass, so we put it in her pussy. Perfect. We can get a great shot of the hook, a great pose, and that's the shot. I didn't see the point in putting it in her ass because it would have been hidden.
For the second look, I though the purple yams would be interesting because they have a lot of texture, but they reminded Andrea of poop. - There's lead models and non-lead models
- Lead models will be in multiple looks/pics. There are a limited number of leads (1-3) and they must be able to do at least 3+ shoots throughout that period, less if I've shot with you before.
- Non-lead models will participate in one shoot
Let me know if you're interested in either position. Models will need slim to fit figures and leads should be fit to handle suspension. Shoots would be in Redwood City (I can pick up from BART or Caltrain, possibly from SF) or San Francisco. Participating models will receive a copy of the book when it's published early next year.

Gropes, giggles, and boob milk

The Tubes - Third time's a charm
Zoey and I had a cool concept for a car shoot, but the lights in the studio were set up for another pose. Rather than tearing them down, I decided to try a sci-fi concept with some tubing first. A relatively quick shoot, and then we'd go back to the original concept.
This would be the third attempt for me using the steel tubes. They've always been a challenge to get right visually and they're heavy enough to be awkward to work with. The first time I tried was at the end of the day and the model ran out of time and energy. The second time worked better, although I struggled to get the best angle.
Fortunately, this third time was a charm although still a lot of work during the shoot and afterwards in post. Sci fi is a particularly difficult genre for me. Perhaps it's not something that lends itself to abstraction, and I don't have the right sets. This time was the closest I'd gotten to what I envisioned and something I was happy with.
We were short on time after all that, so we took some test shots with the car. I'll defer posting those until we have better ones in a subsequent shoot. Zoey is an amazing model and pulled off a very difficult shoot. I'm looking forward to my next one with her in the near future.

Super Saturday with Ass Whore: Part 2/2
I had already finished a shoot earlier in the day, so this upcoming one with M and her husband was the gravy and a quick affair. It was already 7, so a few shots with the couple and I'd have more than my share for the week.
They had arrived first, and I hadn't eaten anything but a can of beans earlier in the day, so I was driving in with my $2.99 fish combo from Jack in the Box. Bananas - Part 1
I saw a comment from a non-model on FL, Wunderpanties, and noticed she was in Campbell. That's close to me and there's some affinity from proximity, so I asked if she'd like to shoot. My usual questions are what the model limits and comfort levels with explicit work (e.g. things like fingering or toys) and what concepts they like. She kept saying yes and in fact, the wilder the concept the more enthusiastic she became.
I didn't have any openings for the month, so we agreed to stay in touch. Then she sent some messages asking about bolder concepts, and loved them including one that probably can't be posted anywhere. I don't even know if I could get a print made, so that says a lot.
Models who love the dirtiest and most twisted concepts go way up on my priority list (just as models who are only looking for nudes go way down) so I just had to shoot with her *now*. That's how I found myself in the studio shooting with her on the day I was supposed to be kicking back and relaxing.
We tried a banana concept first, and also ropes with my wand. She was every bit as easy to work with as I could imagine. I got some nice rope shots, and also met a really cool person who I'll be shooting more of in the future.
As for the bananas... I'm going to have to work on those. Let's just say that food photography is a specialty of its own and and practice makes perfect.

Nadira and Leaves
Out of the photos from our prior shoot, Nadira liked ones of her sensually on the be. The ones with twine and being bound didn't resonate as much. So this time we were planning to do rope, but I wanted to capture a more sensual look while still having an edge. .
After a warmup look against a grey paper backdrop which wasn't really working that well because I didn't really have the right color, I tied her into a chair and added some vines. I hate the look of fake vines because the leaves don't look real. Real leaves are 3 dimensional with texture and ridges that create beautiful glints and shadows with a waxy shine. Fake leaves are printed, so they don't look like any of that. On the other other hand, I didn't have several hours to scrounge around so the artificial variety would have to do.

I tied the wand to her c-spot, and bingo, she looked.... relaxed? content? satisfied? Reflections - 3 Models
I shot with FreakyMar again, but this time she brought two friends, Persephoned and SgSue for a threesome. The look and size between them was very different, so I posed them so similar features were all in the shot. The most notable was SgSue's bright red hair, which made an ideal focal point for the image.
Add some water on the floor to capture some reflections, and we have a hot sexy looking mess. "Looking" is the operative word because the floor was wet, cold, and hard. I believe one of the models said "There is no way I'm going to cum like this".

Sweet and Dirty
While planning the shoot, Tatiana asked some standard questions but an unusual one was if she could bring a rigger (in addition to her SO) when I mentioned a rope concept. I'm all for bringing support, but someone standing over my shoulder to oversee my work couldn't be good for creativity, so I nixed that.
Any anxiety I had vanished when I met Tatiana in person. She turned out to be a sweetheart and her BF was just as easy going. She was happy to try all the ideas we threw together and both of them were as cooperative and patient as I could have wished. We got some great pics, and the shoot went quickly. She even put up with the wind without batting an eye.
The images turned out pretty and dirty, not to mention pretty dirty, which is just the way I like 'em. I'm looking forward to our next shoot, something I can say without reservation.

Exotic Nadira
On a Wed evening I had a casual shoot with Nadira. As a photographer, it's rare to have an opportunity to shoot someone whose ethnicity traces back to India, traditionally a conservative culture. She had found me through one of my exhibitions at an SF event.
She planned on bringing a dildo, but I was pleasantly surprised to see something as large and ornate as hers.
I didn't know what to expect before we shot because she's not really in the scene as my others models are, but I found her to be really fun and down to earth. She was a really fun to talk to, and I loved her exotic features.

I had shot with Zoey once before, and was looking forward to a fun shoot bdsm-nature concept where I had a chance to get all my favorite things in - photography, rope, and the wand. She wanted to incorporate nature into the shoot, and had a lot of ideas for doing so.
Vines on the model was a very old concept for me, something I shot for many years a long time ago. It seemed appropriate for a first solo shoot with a nature theme. After putting on the rope and adding the vine, we started the test shots. When that looked good, I attached the wand and after adjusting it to hit just the right spot, we started shooting in earnest.
At first the results were an obvious allegory to the state of our environment today, with global warming and pollution. But after some more tweaks on the images, it looked more like bondage nature pinup so I went with that look. It seems very cool and her expressions were great.
She said she'd never been suspended before, and I used a suspension harness as part of the rope work. To break in her suspension virginity, I added a couple of supports around the thigh and we did a quick suspension just for the kicks. It only happened if there are pics so here's one of that.
It was a different and exciting look from most my work, and I hope to shoot with Zoey many more times in the future.

The Column with Destiny
The week ended better than it started and the column still hadn't been christened with a really naughty concept. My shoot with Destiny was on Saturday, something I was especially looking forward to because it was our first shoot. Shooting a model the first time is both anxious and exciting. Anxious because I never know how it will turn out, but exciting to shoot someone new.
Pianola was there to assist, and I was ready to try yet another column shoot, albeit more risque than before. Step one was for Pianola to rig Destiny to the column, and I took some shots that were more conservative that would be good for vanilla modeling sites.
Now it was time to get kinky. Destiny said she was ready and Pianola generously agreed to loan her hands. It wasn't easy to maintain her balance, but Pianola managed to keep her fingers going in Destiny's pussy and Destiny's writhing gave just the needed look.
The rope left some great marks, and Destiny wanted to snap a few quick pics. I saw no better opportunity to sneak a second look and happily volunteered. Double suspension minus the double DP
With Rain and Katharine on Thursday, we were planing on a double DP but some things conspired against that. I had just received my 300' of rope, and found a mount point in the SF studio. Those were enticing, but not normally enough to get me away from something more scandalous.
The final nail was it had been a rough day. I tend to do my best kinky concepts when everything's going smoothly, but this day had a lot of garbage in tow. So to my own surprise, I changed the concept from a double DP to a double 69 suspension, or almost so.
Hopefully I'll have a chance to do the double-double someday but this was just what the doctor.
